Hi,
Yesterday I've picked up the gear from Frederik (LCD + system) and realised that we used Fabian's IBM system for the 3D stuff. According to Frederik the video card in his small system does not have 3D capabilities !
Not sure if we can solve this. Anyone has a small system they can bring ?
Furthermore, I have been looking for flyer-holders and business-card holders and after doing 6 stores found one that actually had something that could be used. It's vaguely what I had in mind. I bought three of these and 2 business card holders for the total amount of 56 Euros.
I'd still like to buy the holders I have in mind (eg. that can hold more than 1 flyer) but this is good enough for LinuxTag.
The business cards worked out fine. Since I was in a time-rush I could discuss the layout publically (I made them at 2h at night so that they could be printed the very next day. I hope people like them and I'm interested to hear from everyone how to improve them for next event.
I printed 250 in full color for 19 Euros. The design I used is here:

Kind regards, -- dag wieers, dag@wieers.com, http://dag.wieers.com/ -- [all I want is a warm bed and a kind word and unlimited power]

We can still run the demo directly from my laptop. It is also not the fastest GPU inside but it work well enough. Second option maybe. Does the system from Frederik have a AGP inside it ? I still have a spare Radeon 9600XL AGP card. If we can put that in the system it should be fast enough for compiz.
...cut...

They look nice to me, good work.

The system has a VIA motherboard and no free slots. It does have a PCMCIA slot though :(
We may still use it to display something. But the graphics chipset is really really slow.
PS Tim, can you bring a (small) (USB) keyboard ?

Maybe the Dell PC can help out? I found out that it was quite different than the normal specs (you can obviously change everything on a Dell order). The bad news is that it has only 80GB hdd, but the good ones are that it has an nVidia graphics card (Quadro NVS 285, NV44). Maybe that's OK for showing compiz?
But: Using the xen kernel and the nvidia drivers is known to be unstable, So while demoing xen one would not have access to compiz and vice versa.

Sounds decent enough

We could still let the compiz demo run on my laptop. Maybe it is even easier to split those things up so we can show different things at the same time and make it all a bit more flexible to help people out with their questions.

Done (but skip the small part :) )
