Hello,
i just announced the booth stuff to FrOSCon. As every year you'll get some kind of identity card.
Our booth is located just in between OpenSUSE and PostgreSQL, but our fellow Fedora guys aren't too far away :)
I'd like to collect your mobile phone numbers - just to be sure. I have contact info for Sarah and Didi, but not for Fabian and Chris. My mobile phone number is +49 173 7162022, if you need assistance for anything concerning FrOSCon, you can just call me.
Our address is: Niederkasseler Str. 49 53859 Niederkassel GERMANY (N 50.820043° E 7.060526°)
You can park in front of the house. However, as we don't have a doorbell yet (sigh!) make sure you carry a mobile phone with you. If you get stuck just call me for directions. A rough estimation on when you plan to arrive would probably help, too.
Concerning FrOSCon itself: do we have the Promo-"Chest"? Do we still need anything? I currently do not have any promo-stuff...
Regards, Andreas

If "everything" means 2 or 3 shirts - then yes.
I wanted to discuss the T-Shirt thing at the promo meeting, where no one turned up to. I don't want to decide by my self what to buy so I have just left things how they are.
Cheers Didi

Hi Didi,
Are we talking about the black t-shirts with the colorful CentOS logo (like the ones we still had at Fosdem 2010 ?) Am I wrong or were there first 'printed' for LinuxTag 2009 by Andreas and Sarah ? If so , how can more t-shirts be 'printed' again ?

It was Sarah's idea and I guess we first had them for FrOSCon 2009 (but after all that doesn't really matter)

I think Sarah sent Didi the data for the shirts (at least she wanted to do so). If there is a decision to order new shirts we can probably handle that if our expenses are covered (just like last time).

Yes she did. The problem is that some people voiced to opinion that polo shirts would be better suited for something like CentOS. I looked into that and they are quite expensive (For the money in the promo box we can get about 15 I think). I don't want to make that decision on my own.
Maybe now is the time to discuss this?
Cheers Didi

I guess it is.
Do you own a polo-shirt and when did you wear it for the last time? I don't have one, and I don't remember knowing anyone who regularly wears one...
Additionally a polo with a printed logo looks weird (at least for me). A pattern would be ok, but IMO a logo on a polo should be rather small and trimmed with piping.
Thus I'd suggest the following: _If_ we're going down the polo-road we should actually order CentOS Patches (which shouldn't be that expensive) and polo-shirts separately. We'll probably be able to find someone with the required sewing-skills... However, I guess it is still more expensive. I can probably get rather good polo shirts (Fruit of the Loom) for around 9 EUR each - the printed shirts cost around 11 EUR (both excl. vat).
So if somebody comes up with a <= 2 EUR CentOS-Patch and a worker willing to sew them for free, at least the price would be competitive.
Regards, Andreas

As a point of reference, last year I had some shirts made here in the US, and they were fairly costly: about $37 USD. They were good quality shirts, with some being short-sleeved polo and some being long-sleeved button-down. I had the logo digitized and embroidered on the shirts; a (large) jpg photo of the embroidery is here [1]. If you're able to go with an embroidered logo, I would certainly recommend that option for the Promo team.
That said, the t-shirts mentioned earlier in the thread were more popular with the majority of the booth visitors at that conference.
:-)

So maybe we should just stay with the cheaper "normal" shirts [1] for the masses. So if someone is not happy with this SHOUT NOW otherwise I will buy them.

I personally don't like that much as the logo does not contain the white outline (which is part of it). Andreas once stated that this is due the costs per color, but imho the logo is incomplete, then.

Yes it is because we are only allowed a certain amount which we already use up with the "main" colours. But this is a problem we will have with every good quality print. I got some printed with all the colours and it was just iron on stuff and looked really bad.

If it was a religion, I would agree with you. It's not the *true* logo.

Hi Andreas, Just a question : have you already registered us as 'exhibitors' or do we have to register as 'visitors' and pay the entrance for the week-end ?

Of course you've all been registered as exhibitiors and just need to tell your name at the exhibitor's entrance.
