Hi guys,
So there are some additions to the promo-box, including magnetic centos cards and a very nice vinyl CentOS Banner[1].
However I am again leaving UK for a week starting thursday evening, so cant hand over the box to anyone till I get back. Will get in touch with Didi as soon as I am back and we can arrange for a Beer^W handover session in the city :)
Also, over the next week or so, I will do a detailed post with feedback and a general roundup for the cPanel conference.

I have attached a few photos from the cPanel conference to my wiki page [1] .

We also now have a promo box here in the US, and I believe this box inherited some items from the EU box.

I have added an "Events Review" section to the Newsletter where I posted some thoughts and observations from the recent cPanel Conference. If you have wiki access to the Newsletter drafts, the issue # is 0906. Proofreading of the article is always welcomed...
Thanks.

Always welcome. The monthly CentOS London Beer event :)

As I have said numerous times already I will crete a Promo Box wiki page PROMISE. Would be cool if we could have Continental Promo Boxes. If we share flyers etc... it become cheeper.
Maybe the Promo team could get a budget of some kind. I will talk to the people responsible in private.

Nice. I will start working on that release tonight.
Cheers Didi

Hi, Didi. Have you had any follow-up discussions regarding a Promo Team budget?
Thanks

Hi, Didi. Have you had any follow-up discussions regarding a Promo Team budget?
No unfortunately not. I would like to have one though would make the whole thing more "professional" as we could buy stuff and not rely on individuals donating.
For example I have been selling the T-Shirts so we can get a wireless router for the box and a power extension. Which are quite vital for conferences. Further one of those roll out banners would be nice, but it seams that we have a new funky one now :)
I want to get some lanyard (keychain) as they have a really good promo effect too.
What would be really useful would be printing some CDs but I still am not sure if we might not waste a lot of money on that, as they might not all go. If we would be really rich we could ship them like Ubuntu for free. But on conferences it always looks quite unprofessional when you are handing out burnt CDs (DVDs) with a printed black and white sticker on them (Which we have run out now, by the way).
Cheers Didi
Thanks

Agreed.

At the recent Promo event in the US, we sold several of the t-shirts that Karanbir brought over from the EU promo box. Those funds are currently available to be put back into the pot. As for the new banner, my hope is that the project will fund that retroactively from the "promo budget"... :-)
I want to get some lanyard (keychain) as they have a really good promo effect too.
Agreed.

For the recent US event, I purchased a self-inking, rubber-stamp with "CentOS 5" in blue, and I also purchased some inkjet-printable DVDs. While the rubber-stamp was not top quality, it seemed a better approach than handwriting. We also used some of the "CentOS color" DVD sleeves that were part of the EU promo box (nice touch).
Any idea as to what the ROI is to the project when DVDs are given away? I have no idea. I do know that of the approx 25 DVDs that were handed out at the recent US event, we received approx $2 USD in total donations (our suggested donation for a DVD was $1 USD each). The t-shirts were a much larger draw for donations....

Let's get 5.4 out of the door and then talk about that (maybe even in a new thread)? I know there's need for that - but I'm not too sure what is needed for the next shows. I for one would like to have new flyers, I cannot see the old ones anymore :)
Cheers,
Ralph

Unfortunately I can't send you all of them till we have new ones. But if you need some, private mail me your address and I will pop some in a letter.
Cheers Didi

I have about 500 of the existing ones, but will only be able to get to them once I am back in the UK - which is 4 days from now. In addition to the ones that were in the promo box, I already have a large number from which I've been handing out at different expo's etc. These are now all in the box!

I still have some and already put them in a letter for Marcus. I will post them in the next few days. Don't think he needs thousands.
Cheers Didi

Maybe Dag has still some flyers too ? BTW is there a need to create a new flyer that can be used for upcoming events (Fosdem 2010 for example ;-) )
