Hi Folks !
It's once again the perfect time to get prepared for Fosdem ! I've created a wiki page (http://wiki.centos.org/Events/Fosdem2014) so feel free to add your name if you'll be there.
Who's the Promo Box and what's still inside ? Karanbir wanted balloons like last year, and I got feedback from people attending Fosdem last year who thought that it was a great idea. So do we go with balloons ?
What about stickers and t-shirts ? I don't think we'll have free t-shirts like last year.

Stuff is at my place, I don't have a sane inventory - but I can tell you we have some stuff left. I'll try to make an inventory this weekend.

+1 from me. We still have balloons, but I have to check wether they're still ok. On FrOSCon in August they were already worn out a bit.

No, probably not.
Also I don't know wether or not I'll make it to FOSDEM. Sarah is pregnant and ETA is somewhere around the end of January. So the schedule might become an issue.
Regards, Andreas

Cool, thanks a lot.

Hmm, I guess we can order new balloons. The shop where I got the helium is nice and i'll see with them how much would that cost -> easy to catch both balloons and helium at the same place and no shipping costs as it's local to me.

Well, that's what I would call a good news ! Sarah and you will miss us this year, but that will be for a good reason ;-)

Hey Andreas, Had you (free) time to have a look at the box content ?

Let me know (ASAP) if we need to order new balloons.

What about sending the promo-box to my house (I'll pay the delivery costs, or we'll use some promo money we should have somewhere)

Not yet. We were on vacation (in fact I'm sitting in the car on the way home while writing this). I will check the stuff tomorrow - sorry for the delay.

We can do that, but international shipping is quite expensive. Money is not an issue - Promo is doing well. However, I think we should try to find some way that doesn't include international shipping cost :)

No problem, it's the holidays season, right ? :-)

Well, if international shipping costs could be avoided, that would be nice, but I don't see a direct way to avoid it. AFAIK Ralph doesn't live in your area, and I'm now 100% sure that you'll not come (and for a very good reason ;-) ). Have you an idea on how to get the promo box sent to Fosdem ?

Yep, been visiting friends and stuff.
The inventory on the Wiki-Page has been updated. The Balloons are fine and we even have quite a lot balloon ribbon left.

Not really. I guess Ralph is going by train again, so he probably won't be able to bring it. Is there Anyone else coming from Germany who could transport it? I can send it anywhere quite cheaply as long as it doesn't cross any border. Sending such a package to Belgium will cost around 32 € for shipping, sending it to any place in Germany will cost only 12 €. Promo could easily cover that cost, but (as always) I'd rather avoid.

Hi guys,
As one of my new year resolutions I have said to become again a bit more involved with the CentOS project and helpout with the promo stuff. I already put Fosdem and LinuxTag into my agenda ;)
So for Fosdem I can be there for the social event fridayevening. Saterday the whole day and sunday in the morning. So if you need someone the be at the booth or something...
Andreas, IIRC you live not that far from Belgium? I don't mind driving to you during saterday or a sunday to come pick it up (company car ;) ).
I can help out with anything else. Let me know.
Kind regards and all the best for 2014! Tim

Well, ideally we'll need the promo box on saturday morning (containing all the balloons, etc) so don't know if you'd be able to do that. I'll be myself busy on the friday with the Dojo happening at IBM Brussels (Forum) so will not be able to prepare a lot that day
I can help out with anything else. Let me know.

The idea was to come get the box in a weekend before Fosdem. So you could already use it for the Dojo for example.

Oh, that would be fine ! Let us know if that's then doable for you and Andreas :-)

For me it is fine, unless I'm "busy" at the hospital. However, I somehow feel "Tim driving for hours to get the box" is more expensive than the 32 € DHL charges for shipping. And it isn't any better than me driving with the car to Brussles.
So if we don't have another option that doesn't involve someone driving the whole way in both directions just for the box, I'd say we pay for the commercial shipping.
Feel free to assign some work to Tim, AFAICT he's got a few free hours time on the weekend before Fosdem ;)
Regards, Andreas

Ok, let me send you my mailing address so that you'll be able to ship the box as soon as you can.

ahahaha, good idea :-)

There are still a few media left, but they're quite outdated. The Live DVDs are at 6.2 IIRC.
Do we need/want newer media for FOSDEM? I have plenty of empty printable DVDs and could try to find some free time to produce a bunch of disks.

The timing might be a bit problamatic, or very convenient ( if you need a quick getaway! )
