Fabian and I had a chat with the venue people today, its important to note that people who are not registered for the event will not be allowed in on the day. Registration closes a few days ahead of time to allow the venue folks to get the lists over to security people.
So when we promote the event - please stress this point ( in the last 2 years we've often had people just turn up, this year- regardless of who they are, they wont be allowed in without proving their ID and having their name on the list ).

w.r.t infrastructure on the day, we have asked for 3 rooms, one for each track that we run on the day. And we will have an additional meeting room, that can be used for the SIG / Project contact space ( more info on that shortly ).
Each room will be setup on its own, we just need to co-ordinate breaks and session changeover times between them.
Overall total capacity for the day is set at 130 people. Room setup will likely be 50 / 40 / 40; We should be able to get video recording setup for 2 of the 3 rooms.

The network setup on site for the day will look like : a single cabled uplink from the venue; we will run the gateway device/router, and we will bring our own Access Points and run our own WiFi network for all the rooms there.
This should allow us to run local mirrors, and a local dns, for common content like mirror.centos.org or cloud.centos.org; if anyone doing a demo / tutorial would like their content cached ( if its more than a few MB's then you really should! ), let us know.

Hi,
it would be great if I can give a presentation about the current status of the Storage SIG. This talk can fill 30-60 minutes. Depending on the allocated time, I will include some demos as well.
We might wand to add co-presenters, if there is an interest from other Storage SIG members.
Thanks, Niels
Abstract:
The last couple of months we have been working on providing packages through the Storage SIG. During this talk, Niels will explain a little about the process that makes it possible to provide packages in the SIG that can be released to users. At the moment, users can install Gluster and NFS-Ganesha from the SIG, Ceph and other components are following.
In addition to the packaging efforts, members of the SIG are working on adding tests in the CentOS CI infrastructure. Some examples of tests and plans for the future will be presented.
About the speaker:
Niels is a core-developer and maintainer for Gluster. He is employed by Red Hat and works together with other teams who provide professional support for Red Hat Gluster Storage. The main areas where Niels is active, include network protocols, low-level/Operating Systems improvements and integration with other Open Source projects like NFS-Ganesha. When Niels is not hacking on Open Source software, you are most likely to find him on a squash court or cycling around in the area near Zaandam in The Netherlands where he lives.
