Looks like we are going to linux.conf.au!
From experience I know that for a good booth you need big posters, big screens and lots of things for your visitors to take. For linux you also need penguins, thats a given.
The big three I think are: - Posters - CD/DVDs - Stickers
In the past I had the benefit of a marketing department who arranged all that for me but I guess this time I'll have to do some work.
Is there a recommended procedure for getting everything together? Is there money available for printing? I'll need to get things underway this week because next Monday is a holiday down here.
Thanks
John.

Hi Steve,
I just wanted to establish contact and also followup on what you said a few days back(?) about CentOS presence at Linuxconf.au - if we can get something there, that would be fantastic! If there is anything that you might need from us at this end, let me know. I am happy to act as contact point from this end.
This email is also CC'd to John Newbigin, who is based down in those parts of the world, and might be also heading down to LCA.
Regards, and thanks for taking this up at your end!

Right :) And:
- CentOS flag - CentOS shirts for the booth people

There is no budget (that I know of). It would be nice if we could set up a location from where we could ship all of these items. A logistics secretary would be nice :)
But before we can think of something like this, we have to produce new flyers, posters, CDs and stickers cheaply and get a budget together.
If we order these things online on-the-fly I think it will cost us much more than if we can dispatch it from one location ourselves.
PS Also, to increase the promo budget I think we need to have a transparant look at the income and the costs of the CentOS project. If we have a plan and a need for money I am sure that more people are willing to donate. Also if we can send out invoices for expensive CD-bundles, companies may actually be willing to buy tax-deductable wares as well.
We can improve a lot in these areas, but who is volunteering ?

When ? When ?
Linux.conf.au runs from the 28th January to the 1st of February, with our open day happening on the 2nd February. It's being held at the University of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

If you have an estimate on how much its likely to cost - I can take that up with Lance and I am relatively sure that we can do something there.
