yum-3.2.8 for Centos 4 backport, part II.

Hi, I have again worked on yum 3.2.8 for Centos 4 today, after a long time. The result is backported package yum-3.2.8-9.el4.hrb.2.1.5 which is the upgrade of yum-3.2.8-9.el4.hrb.2.1.3 I've been using smoothly for quite a long time. Packages are in testing repos: http://fs12.vsb.cz/hrb33/el4/hrb/testing/i386/repodata/ http://fs12.vsb.cz/hrb33/el4/hrb/testing/x86_64/repodata/ I'd like to ask for QA tests. This patched version passes all the internal yum tests (aka 'make test'). Regards, David Hrbáč

Hi, I hoped to use php-5.2 while keeping close to the centos packages (no external repositories). So I tried the packages from http://dev.centos.org/centos/5/testing/i386/RPMS/ . These packages seem to be compiled without mime-magic support (--without-mime-magic). The previous stable php-5.1.6 packages had this mime-magic support enabled. Any reason for this change? is there an add-on rpm packages supplying this support? Just tested php-5.2.10-1.el5.centos, with the same result. Justin

Hi, I hope I am on the good list to ask this, if not I apologize. 5 days ago, Upstream released an errata for the nasty bug that was introduced with selinux-policy-2.4.6-255.el5_4.3, which prevented postfix-driven systems from sending email. http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHBA-2010-0063.html https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=555793#c1 I would like to know if the fixed selinux-policy rpm was in the process to be deployed for centos as the lack of it prevent me to update servers. I know that it's bad to ask :( but as Upstream say in the first time "oh you will have to wait for 5.5 for a clean fix", this bug is getting me anxious. Thanks for your work, kfx

Hi, To come back to this thread: THe version that CentOS Testing is providing is a version from 2008: php-5.2.6-2.el5s2.i386.rpm 16-Sep-2008 01:20 1.2M http://dev.centos.org/centos/5/testing/i386/ The latest version from Red Hat is: http://ftp.redhat.com/pub/redhat/linux/enterprise/5Server/en/RHWAS/SRPMS/ph… Is it possible the CentOS Testing PHP (and perhaps others) packages aren't up to date and people using the CentOS Testing repo have an outdated and vulnerable PHP version running? httpd from testing replace httpd.conf

Hi all, while switching from [updates] httpd-2.2.3-31.el5.centos.2.src.rpm to [c5-testing] httpd-2.2.8-1.el5s2.centos.src.rpm i noticed that httpd.conf will be replaced. That should not be intentional? Comparing the spec-files shows [updates] %config(noreplace) %{_sysconfdir}/httpd/conf/httpd.conf [c5-testing] %config %{_sysconfdir}/httpd/conf/httpd.conf httpd-2.2.8-1.el5s2 is from RHWAS right? Hi all: i installed php, apache, mysql on my CentOS. then i installed wordpress on localhost. when i upgraded a plugin, wordpress asked me to enter "hostname", "username" and "password". what's them? i tried mysql username and password, they didn't work. anyone can help me? thanks so much. -- Yours JudahXIII

why is the addons repo empty?

Hi, today I noticed that yum-priorities is not anymore in the base distribution - a fact that seems to be well documented. However the yum-utils src rpm still builds that package. Therefore I was wondering why yum-priorities is available in extras and not in addons.
