I'll get back in touch with UC and see what we can work out. Thanks.
I've just heard back from Hazem at UC. It looks like the June 3 or 4 dates would work. He wants to know what kind of a room we require - whether a lecture-style room seating 100 would work or if we're looking for something different. Also, what times we're looking for.
Is there someone that I can loop into this email conversation so that I'm not bouncing everything through the list?

I'd prefer June 3/4 as 10/11 backs up against Texas LinuxFest.

I will suggest June 3,4,10 or 11th. Any of those dates work for me, I'll let others chime in.

my impression is that in the US, workday works better - but weekend might be ok as well, if we give people lots of time to plan.
+1 workday. I have seen way better attendance at weekday events in North America than weekend - and some grumbling about it being on a weekend from the folks who *did* turn up on weekend events.
Best,
