Hi Guys,
I've attached an image with this email that shows the original Classic logo on the right side and an embroidered logo on the left side - the image isn't the clearest in the world, but the embroidered logo in real life does look quite nice and stands out nicely.
I noticed the colours were slightly off - the blue almost looks like black and the green needs to be a bit darker : the printers are going to sort that out.
We have enough money to get about 150 of these embroidered ones made. So I was thinking we could pick a single shirt colour and have Medium / Large and XL made up like :
Medium : 30 Large : 60 XL : 60
The reason I'm looking at this is : cost of getting 5 colours in screen isnt cheap ( and the results are not very nice either ). And to get the vinyl transfer as we have on the last set of Classic T Shirts needs us to order 500+ shirts, which is going to cost a lot more than money in the pot and what I'm able to contribute as a top-up.
Thoughts ?
How much for 1 grey large inc. p/p UK ?
How big is the logo ?
Thanks,
Paul.

Love it!
Since the entire logo has a white border, I was thinking a slightly darker grey than this one might be a good base. But not as dark as the carbon grey used for the Linux Ninja ones.
Depending on feedback, I'll place orders on Monday.

I think the embroidered look is quite nice. The colours need to be sorted out as you say, but the end result should be great.

So, the first few of the embroidered shits are now here with me, we should have the entire batch done by the end of this month ( its painfully slow as each shirt takes about 25 minutes on the embroidery machine ).
I'd like to propose that these shirts be handed out to contributors to the project. People who have been visible and well respected in the communities. A benchmark might be number of forum posts, or number of bug reports handled or number of mailing lists posts etc; or is there a better metric for contributors to the project ?
People who represent CentOS at various conferences or talk about CentOS at a local linux/opensource events should also get one ( imho );
thoughts ?
Andreas: yes, they are black and yes they look quite nice. Picture attached.
