Create Virtual Machine via HTTP or FTP

Hi, I'm trying to create a Virtual Machine using Network Install mode (I tried HTTP and FTP). The HTTP/FTP server where the installation files are located is the Host Machine. The URL that I'm using is: http://192.168.1.104/inst and the Automatic detect option detects the OS without problem. When the installation starts I got an error: Unable to retrieve http://192.168.1.104/inst/images/install.img I tried different path but I always get the same error. The host machine is a Centos 6.2 (2.6.32.-220.el6.x86_64) I really appreciate any help with this problem. Thanks in advance,

Building CentOS 6.2 custom install media

Hi, For the OLPC school server ("XS") we are planning to move from our dated F9 setup to CentOS 6.2. Thanks for all the effort involved in producing this distro. One important part of this project is a 'respin' of the install media - we need to add a handful of packages from external repositories, and maybe run a command late in the install. Are the scripts/configurations used to produce the CentOS official CD/DVDs available? I guess this would be our most reliable/sensible starting point. I am familiar with pungi, kickstart, anaconda, etc, so just a simple git link would be enough to get me started. Thanks, Daniel

Building Dovecot CentOS 5 RPMs with custom LDAP packages

Hi, We are (still) mainly using CentOS 5 (5.8 x86_64). As CentOS / EL 5 standard OpenLDAP packages are rather old (2.3.x), we've been using LTB OpenLDAP packages ( http://ltb-project.org/wiki/download#openldap), which get installed in non-standard file system locations. I am not much experienced in building RPMs and preparing spec files. We are currently using dovecot RPM packages from the atrpms repo (http://packages.atrpms.net/dist/el5/dovecot/). I would like to re-build Dovecot packages based on the LTB OpenLDAP RPM packages (OpenLDAP v2.4.x), esp. because I see that ATRPMs Dovecot RPM packages are built using OpenLDAP v2.3 devel code (i.e. standard CentOS OpenLDAP devel packages). In http://dl.atrpms.net/all/dovecot.spec I see: ------------------------------------------------ BuildRequires: openldap-devel, cyrus-sasl-devel ... Question 1: What other changes/additions should we make in the spec file in order to specify that we will be using (if needed) LDAP libraries from: /usr/local/openldap/lib64 and include files from: /usr/local/openldap/include (rather than from /usr/lib64 and /usr/include, respectively, which are the standard file paths used in native openldap-devel RPM)? IE 9 not sending digest auth info

I migrated our internal wiki server last week, and some IE users aren't able to authenticate. The service is hosted by Apache using Digest authentication. It migrated from Apache 2.2.9 (Debian 5) to Apache 2.2.15 (CentOS 6). The internal hostname for the wiki server is a DNS CNAME that was repointed from one host to another during the cutover. In a normal session, 1. Client sends GET 2. Server sends 401 with WWW-Authenticate header 3. Client sends GET with Authorization header 4. Server sends 200 with Authentication-Info header and page content When using IE 9 (and possibly 8, I'm still trying to track that down), 1. Client sends GET 2. Server sends 401 with WWW-Authenticate header 3. Client resends GET (*without* Authorization header) 4. Server sends 401 with WWW-Authenticate header 5. Etc. IE seems to be ignoring 401 and/or the WWW-Authenticate headers. Using Chrome on Windows works fine; the issues are specific to IE. Any ideas? CentOS 6.2 on partitionable mdadm RAID1 (md_d0) - kernel panic with either disk not present

When I remove either of the disks (delete the -drive file= line), the system boots to a point wherein the GRUB menu is displayed and the progress bar displays for a while till the white bar reaches about halfway point and then it: Kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init! The purpose of the above exercise was to test if the system will work in spite of losing one of the disks which is what RAID1 is supposed to do (I am emulating by removing the disk image line from the definition of the system). Has anyone tested CentOS 6.2 on partitionable mdadm RAID1 setup in bare metal hardware? Any suggestions/ideas as to what I may doing incorrectly? Constant ACPI Errors every 5min in dmesg & messages.log

Hi. I get these ACPI errors constantly every 5min or so in /var/log/messages and dmesg : kernel: ACPI Error: SMBus or IPMI write requires Buffer of length 42, found length 20 (20090903/exfield-286) kernel: ACPI Error (psparse-0537): Method parse/execution failed [\_SB_.PMI0._PMM] (Node ffff88061056cb00), AE_AML_BUFFER_LIMIT kernel: ACPI Exception: AE_AML_BUFFER_LIMIT, Evaluating _PMM (20090903/power_meter-341) It's brand new HP DL380 G7 server with CentOS 6.2 with all updates.
